Metropolitan park walks

My visual LAB

Lately, sunday morning have a different twists. I do workout for my eyes, or better said, I go to my visual gym. The Parque Nacional Metropolitano is a national park located in the middle of the city, with abundance of trees, birds, trails, and hills, and not being an expert in woodland photography, I consider it a challenge. I get there early, with camera and tripod in hand, and just walk the trails looking for compositions, and it has been a great learning experience. It has been so much fun, I just go there and try different cameras and lenses, just to be able to compare different features and technologies, but also to be open to mistakes and learn.

And I have learned so much. For instance, I thought my D700 was not as sharp as my Fujifilm gear, when by accident I noticed how different the Nikon photos would look if I apply mirror lock up. Now, photos are just as sharp as Fujifilm. See, it wasn't the camera, it was my poor technique. Or about colors, indeed, different cameras, different color science; however, put one picture next to another in Lightroom, and through careful editing, you can get one photo look similar to another. This place has made me work slower, and harder, and increase my physical strength for longer walks.

I love it. It is my visual lab. I fully recommend it.
